Kent Delord House Museum #2

Point Au Roches State Park #3
Situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Champlain, Point Au Roches State Park offers a mixture of open and forested areas. Its large day-use area has a protected sandy beach and picnic facilities. The staffed Nature Center provides various programming throughout the year.

The War of 1812 Museum #5
The War of 1812 Museum is run by the Battle of Plattsburgh Association to interpret artifacts and materials related to the Battle of Plattsburgh, a pivotal engagement in the War of 1812. This battle occurred on September 11, 1814, and was an important victory for the revolutionary forces.
The museum resides in what was the old Plattsburgh Air Force base, and it offers a wide range of exhibits and artifacts that tell this historical story. Visitors can also watch an interpretive film, titled September 11th, 1814: The Battles at Plattsburgh.
A life-size ship’s bulwark and small carronade on display helps visitors imagine living through this period, and there are many more hands-on activities. Other features include a collection of period clothing and uniforms, as well as musical instruments on loan from the New York State Museum and Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
In addition to the War of 1812 Museum, the Maritime Museum also features a traveling exhibition that explores this historic event from the perspectives of Canadians and Americans.
This original companion exhibit, Prize & Prejudice: Nova Scotia’s War of 1812, is part of the Museum’s ongoing research and exploration into how the events of this war shaped the culture of a British colony that would later become Canada.

Stone Ledge Sculpture Garden #6
Located on a property owned by Jackie Sabourin and her husband, Dick, the Stone Ledge Sculpture Garden is an open field where local artists display their creations. The sculptures are all made of metal, stone and other materials.
It is located on busy Route 9 between Plattsburgh and Ausable Chasm and is free to walk through. It is a must-see for those who love art. The owners of the property, Jackie and Dick Sabourin, were recently named Art Teachers of the Year for northern New York State.
They are dedicated to maintaining the garden on their property. A great place for a family to stop and enjoy the scenery. There are a number of sculptures that are displayed throughout the yard and they are all unique in their own way.
Currently dozens of works by six students and one professor are displaying their creativity on the property. They can be seen every couple hundred feet and most have markers describing their creations.

Bluff Point Light #8
