You’ll likely stop to take photos or take a break and explore the tide pools. As you walk, you’ll encounter a plethora of flowers and plants. Beach Morning Glory, Sand Verbena and California Poppy are common to see along the Bluff Trail.
You’ll also find nasturtiums along the trail in the spring. In addition to sweeping coastal views, you’ll encounter four natural habitat zones as you hike. Conifer forest, riparian woodland, chaparral and coastal sage scrub make up the landscape.
If you’re looking to extend your hike, continue on the Bluff Trail to Corallina Cove or Quarry Cove for another half mile of sweeping ocean views and more secluded beaches. Or, go further inland to hit Oats Peak for 360-degree views of Morro Rock and other peaks in the area.
