Rajasthan Royals 175 for 8 (Buttler 52, Padikkal 38, Jadeja 2-21, Deshpande 2-37, Akash 2-40) beat Chennai Super Kings 172 for 6 (Conway 50, Dhoni 32*, Ashwin 2-25, Chahal 2-27) by three run

The stage was set for a dramatic finish at Chepauk as MS Dhoni faced 21 off six balls. After two wides, Sandeep Sharma's yorker was followed by two massive leg-side sixes by Dhoni.

Dhoni led CSK for his 200th IPL game and almost scripted a fairytale win, but Sandeep's perfect yorker sealed a 3-run victory for Rajasthan Royals, putting them at the top of the table.

Super Kings faced a daunting task of 54 runs from 18 balls with new batsmen Jadeja and Dhoni. However, Dhoni hit a four and a six before Jadeja smashed 19 runs off Holder's over.

Yashasvi Jaiswal hit two fours in the first over, but Tushar Deshpande got him out. Devdutt Padikkal was promoted to No. 3 as Royals maintained the left-right combination.

Jadeja took crucial wickets for Super Kings, Royals promoted Ashwin and had a slow scoring period. Ashwin later hit boundaries and sixes, scoring 30 off 22 balls before getting out.
